What is E951?
Aspartame (E951) – sweetener. Aspartame, a calorie-free sweetener about 200 times sweeter than sugar. Labels must say it contains a source of phenylalanine (important for people with phenylketonuria). EFSA reviewed it in 2013 and kept the intake limit at 40 mg/kg body weight a day.
